Established in 1795 and with a population of less than 25,000, it boarders with Cabangan on the North, San Narciso on the South and Pampanga on the East.

Once purely an agricultural and fishing area sprinkled with some prawn hatcheries, it has developed a lot in the last few years, with the establishment of a number of Beach Resorts..
